Helping Us Rise

Shaniya Cherry

This photo shows my Nanny helping her grandkids climb. This simple act shows how she has supported us our whole life. My nanny was always there to help us no matter if it was learning, guiding, or playing. Caregiving to me is assisting others to rise and grow.

Monster Cereal Tradition

Danica Lanforth

My mom shows her care through a tradition of buying us monster cereal every Halloween since we were kids. Now that my sister and I are in college, she gives it to us as a birthday gift. She wants us to still have a childhood feeling far away from home.

Developing the Whole Person

Gwyneth Shafer

This is a photo of my "little" sister and I, from back in high school. It shows care because even though we have no blood relation by being Kathryn's babysitting and seeing her at school she became family to me. I cared for her in taking her places, teaching her, cooking for her, and even talking about boys. Caring for someone is not just about keeping them alive, it's about helping to develop their WHOLE person.

Learning to Care for a Life

Stephanie Pedone

This image represents caregiving in many ways. As the youngest, my older siblings looked after me. In this image, we were getting our family dog, which we promised we would care for. That dog was our best friend and taught me about caring for a life like a little sibling.

No One Cares Like Dad

Hannah Aschoff

This is a photo of my dad and me. My dad has never faltered in his mission of providing his children with undeniable love, care, and support. No one has ever cared for me like my dad. He represents how true caregiving is about sacrifice and selflessness.

Time with G-Dog

Katherine Newnam

This example demonstrates the importance of building memories across generations. G-Dog, as he is lovingly called by the grandchildren, is helping our grandson make a pizza. The gift of time to our children, grandchildren, and beyond is the greatest of riches we provide to future generations.
